Runway 2025 Crowns New GAPA Royalty!
(L-R) Mx GAPA The Indigo Menace, Miss GAPA Quinn Amann Krunch, and Mr. GAPA Seika Ryu
Runway 2025: Myths & Legends was a magical night as we welcomed our newest GAPA Royalty! Congratulations to our three new titleholders, Mx GAPA 2025 The Indigo Menace (any/all), Miss GAPA 2025 Quinn Amann Krunch (she/her) and Mister GAPA 2025 Seika Ryu (he/him)! Additional shout-outs to our runners-up Shakti (she/they) for Mx, Peipei Ma’Bilz (she/Pay Her/hers) for Miss, and Ali Amaya (he/him) for Mister.
In special awards, Gerald Ong was recognized for most tickets sold, while Quinn Amann Krunch added to her accolades as recipient of both audience choice for Best in Interview and contestants’ Congeniality award. Congratulations also to all the other contestants that graciously shared their beautiful authentic selves and shined bright as the stars they all are. We are so proud of you all!
Our evening’s hosts, Jezebel Patel (she/they) and Sir Whitney Queers (he/him) as always brought the sass and sizzle we’ve come to expect. In addition, celebrity performer Rani Ko-HE-Nur wowed us with her South Asian trans excellence, while Miss GAPA 2024 Ari Ola (she/her) and Miss GAPA 2024 Kalypso (she/her) presented beautiful production numbers to end their reigns. We also had fabulous pre-show performances from GAPA Men’s Chorus, Jethro & Flash and Miraaj, and a beautiful art exhibit by Ngoc Nguyen.
We can’t fail to mention how honored we were to have our outstanding panel of judges. API role models all, this year’s judges included Hannah Chea, reigning Miss San Francisco Chinatown; Kat Evasco, award-winning writer, theatermaker, filmmaker; Mocha Fapalatte, Prism Foundation Vice President and Miss GAPA 2019-2022; Vera Fied, Assistant General Counsel at the State Bar of California; Siam Phusri, Drag Race Thailand and Slaysian Royale castmember, as well as Miss GAPA 2022; Joe Tolbe, Maui’s First LGBTQ+ Commissioner; and Lance Toma, CEO of San Francisco Community Health Center.
Kudos to our amazing Producer Jethro Patalinghug (they/them) and Stage Manager John Maze (he/him), as well as our awesome Production Team and all the volunteers too numerous to mention. Runway proves there is a voracious appetite for what we do ─ the kind of community-first, for-us-by-us QTAPI excellence that Runway epitomizes is truly a special thing; it’s not something that can be found easily. We look forward to seeing you next year at Runway 2026!
