History

Since 1989, GAPA has celebrated community, wellness, and belonging with a banquet, gala, and meal. In the tradition of GAPA Banquet, GAPA continues to honor those individuals and community organizations that have contributed to the growth and wellbeing of GAPA and the queer API community.

GAPA Banquet has become a cornerstone event in the San Francisco Bay Area and wider queer and trans API community in the United States, as new generations of queer and trans Asian Americans look to our histories in advancing forth in a myriad of ways positive impacts to American culture and society.

Your support for our gala celebration helps GAPA continue our community building and advocacy through social functions, cultural activities such as chorus, dance and theater, visibility events including Pride and our annual Runway Pageant, and community education about issues that impact queer and trans APIs.
