GAPA FUND

 

GAPA Fund is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity founded in 2019. Its mission is to build and advance our queer and transgender Asian and Pacific Islander communities by supporting and providing cultural education and creative arts programs. For us, what better way to bridge understanding of our lives than through song and stories!

And, of course, we are always here to sponsor GAPA and other like-minded organizations that reflect our mission and stated values.

Dr. Thai Lee

CHAIR. Thai (he/him) previously served as Vice Chair for GAPA, 2015-2019, having worked the intersections of social justice issues within the LGBTQ and Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. Thai holds a BS, Biology from Central Michigan University, DO from Lake Erie College of Medicine, and MPH from UC Berkeley.

Oliver Cácananta</h2>
Oliver Cácananta

SECRETARY / INTERIM TREASURER. Oliver (he/him) served as Treasurer for GAPA, 2015-2020. He has been in the biotech sector for 25 years and currently is a regulatory affairs executive. He holds a BS, Biology from California State University, East Bay and MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Randy Kikukawa</h2>
Randy Kikukawa

BOARD DIRECTOR. Randy (he/him) is the Musical Director for GAPA Men’s Chorus since 1991. He has been a long-time advocate for GAPA and GLBTQ+ AAPI causes and has served in various nonprofit boards in the Bay Area through the years. Randy holds an AB, German Literature from Harvard and MA, Germanic and Historic Linguistics from UC Berkeley.

BOARD DIRECTOR. Dennis (he/him) is a senior sales development recruitment professional. He served in GAPA Board from 2017-2019. Dennis holds a BA, Biology from the University of the Pacific and Master in Healthcare Administration from Colorado State University.
