What We Do
Being queer and transgender while being Asian and Pacific Islander in an American society that doesn’t care or doesn’t really know what to do with either makes living our lives inherently Political. So instead of others defining our place, we have made the stride to do that for ourselves.
GAPA PAC
GAPA PAC is a political action committee, sponsored by GAPA to provide monetary contributions in elections and other politically centered events.
We have provided scholarships to encourage up and coming leaders in our community to gain skills needed to serve publicly or win campaigns (the picture above shows the LGBTQ Victory Institute Candidate & Campaign Training class of February 2019 with five GAPA participants).
We have endorsed in elections. We speak up loud and clear when we have to, like decrying the latest attacks on the transgender and immigrant communities. We raise funds, mobilize our members to come out and vote, knock door to door, whatever we can to help advocates for our community and influence laws affecting our well-being.
