As a minority within a minority, gay Asians & Pacific Islanders rarely see themselves or their perspectives represented. Rather than bemoan the lack of coverage, however, we at the newsletter committee have taken a proactive stance to ensure that the wonderful diversity of our community gets the highlight it deserves. In that regard, GAPA’s Lavender Godzilla newsletter is meant to carry all our voices, from gentle and serene to fierce and fiery. We welcome writing and reproducible art of any sort which either reflect upon, comment on, chronicle or champion our singular and common concerns as gay and bisexual Asians and Pacific Islanders. CALL for SUBMISSIONS Our aim is to showcase the literary and artistic talents of gay & bisexual API men. Your responses and contributions are not only encouraged, but are vital to our continued success. Fiction or non-fiction, personal experience, interviews, essays, photography, artwork, satire, opinion pieces, reviews, poetry, cartoons, etc. -- we invite you to share your point of view. Those of us in the newsletter committee aim to respect all viewpoints and will see to it that any modification of work is done mainly to accommodate the demands of form, space, and scheduling. The next themed issues are listed below (with sample story ideas) and, remember, it’s never too early to send submissions. WANTED: Newsletter Committee Volunteer We are in great need of volunteers to help with the many aspects of putting together our Lavender Godzilla newsletter. Become part of this creative team as we plan the contents of each issue, as well as coordinate in the production and delivery to ensure that members and supporters receive their newsletters on a timely basis. In particular, we are looking for an energetic person to assume the position of Newsletter Committee Coordinator. While we function and produce this newsletter as a committee, the Coordinator serves to help organize us so that we can continue to operate in as efficient a manner as possible (while still having fun). We are also looking for regular contributors (columnists, interviewers, artists, photographers) and people for ad sales to help make each issue fabulous. If interested, please contact: 
CLASSIFIED ADS: Looking for a roommate? Want to sell your Noguchi coffee table or your Beanie Baby collection? The newsletter accepts classifieds/announcements as a free service and added benefit for GAPA members and supporters. Just be aware of the publication time frame (every two months) and the fact that we don't run personal (hooking up) ads. Please send submissions no later than three weeks before publication. DISPLAY ADS: The newsletter also accepts paid commercial ads. Your ad has the potential to reach a diverse audience within a specific niche, with distribution at GAPA socials and outreach events, as well as our regular mailing list. Show support and build loyalty by placing an ad in Lavender Godzilla! Rates are $50 for quarter page, $75 for half page, and $100 for full page. Repeat ads may also qualify for a discount.
