GAPARAP - Storytime: Sharing our Coming Out Stories
When: Sunday, September 18, 2011 - 6-9pm
What: Discussion Group and Potluck Dinner (please bring food to share)
Where: Home in Cole Valley neighborhood of San Francisco (address will be sent to those who RSVP)
Info: One of our shared rites of passage in the gay community is coming out - whether it be to family, friends, co-workers, or others in our lives. We experience so many different things during this process - revelations, catharsis, disappointments, tears of sadness, and tears of joy. Please join us for a GAPARAP discussion where we share both our past coming out experiences, and our feelings about potential coming out discussions in the future.
Attendance is limited by space of the venue - please RSVP to sheening@gapa.org
GAPARAP is a conversation and discussion group for G/B/T Asian men. We talk about things like dating, casual sex, relationships, families, being gay and Asian in the workplace, and other topics members bring up. Our conversations are informal and casual. We encourage people to participate at their own pace, in whatever way makes them comfortable. It's okay to just sit and listen to what others have to say.
We meet in San Francisco or East Bay, at the homes of members who volunteer to host. The home setting contributes to the relaxed and casual environment we seek to foster for our get-togethers. We start with a potluck dinner. Please bring a dish per person to share with the group.
Attendance is FREE. RSVP's are encouraged and appreciated.
If you currently attend gaparap, then you may be interested in participating in the gaparap e-group. This egroup has been established to provide members of gapa-rap another means to communicate with one another. If you are interested in joining the e-group, please e-mail: sheening@gapa.org
If you have any topic suggestions/ideas for GAPARAP, please e-mail them to sheening@gapa.org or edward@gapa.org Thanks!
